Avengers: Endgame Review

Though it’s not the last Marvel movie — not by a long shot — Avengers: Endgame is the final chapter in the saga they began eleven years ago with Iron Man. But what you realize about midway through watching it is that Avengers: Endgame is also the culmination of everything Marvel has been doing since Iron Man, and brings this saga to an even more satisfying conclusion than anyone could’ve imagined.

Exclusive Interview: “James Warren: Empire Of Monsters” Writer Bill Schelly

Back before the Internet became a thing, horror fans had to pick up such magazines as Famous Monsters Of Filmland to know which scary movies were coming to a theater near them. And if Filmland was his only contribution to pop culture, then publisher James Warren would still be deserving of a biography.

But it wasn’t.

In James Warren: Empire Of Monsters (hardcover), veteran pop culture writer Bill Schelly explores and explains the life of the man who not only gave horror fans all the news that he could print, but also the horror comics Creepy andEerie, and the vampire superhero Vampirella.

Captain Marvel Review

While the Marvel movies introduce new characters with almost every installment, it’s been a while since they’ve done an origin story that’s as exciting, clever, and just plain well done as Captain Marvel. In fact, you’d have to go back eight years, to 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, to find an introduction that’s this effortlessly exhilarating.

“Spider-Man” (2018) Review

It’s funny how all the talk of licensed games always being terrible goes right out the window when the thing being licensed is a comic book. Take the interactive adventures of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. While he’s had some terrible games, people mostly remember such good ones as Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows, Ultimate Spider-Man, and, of course, Spider-Man 2. Thankfully, it is the latter category that that we find Spider-Man (PlayStation 4, PS4 Collector’s Edition), the wall-crawler’s newest adventure, and first from the good people of Insomniac Games.
