If there’s been one constant about the steady stream of game reissues over the last few years, it’s that, with a handful of exceptions — Metro 2033 Redux and Gears Of War Ultimate Edition chief among them — most aren’t worth your money if you’ve already played the original. But now we can add Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC) to the list of good ones because it not only perfectly recreates the 1996 original, it adds a whole new section and other fun stuff as well.

“Gears Of War 4” Review
It’s a cliché, I know, but sometimes it’s true that the more things change, the more they stay the same. But while that happens to be the case with the sci-fi third-person Gears Of War 4 (Xbox One, Ultimate Edition Xbox One, PC, Ultimate Edition PC), it’s actually the changes that make this otherwise familiar game feel refreshed and revitalized.
Originally released on Xbox One and PC, the third-person acrobatic action game Rise Of The Tomb Raider was an invigorating adventure that was easily one of the year’s best games and a worthy successor to 2013’s Tomb Raider. Now we have Rise Of The Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration (PlayStation 4), which not only brings this game to Sony’s system, but it also includes both new and previously available story add-ons and challenge modes, making this the definitive edition of a great game.
Considering how much people fuss and fret over the quality of video game graphics and the visual fidelity of game consoles, it’s rather ironic how few games actually use their visual style as a gameplay mechanic. But in doing just that, the side-scrolling platformer Deadlight Director’s Cut (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC) — an augmented version of 2012’s Deadlight — turns something familiar into something far more compelling and fun.

Dark Horse Comics and 343 Industries have announced that they’ll release a new Halo graphic novel collection called Halo Tales From Slipspace on October 12th.
In playing the new PC adventure game Technobabylon, you might think you’ve fallen into a wormhole that’s taken you back to the ’90s. After all, it’s a point & click cyberpunk adventure game with pixel art. But while this makes this PC game sound retro, the game’s creator, writer, and programmer James Dearden says it’s actually using those retro elements in new ways.
The original Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and WiiU was a somewhat simplified version of this series’ patented survival horror. But while Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360) takes a similar approach, it also adds some intriguing additions that makes it even more fun and frightful. And that goes double if you buy the retail version, thanks to some small but cool additions.
