At an event last week in Los Angeles, Bethesda Softworks gave me and other game journalists the opportunity to try the version of 2016’s Doom that they’re bringing to the Nintendo Switch later this year, as well as the virtual reality spin-off Doom VFR, which will be available for PlayStation VR and HTC Vive on December 1st. Here’s my quick impressions of both.

In anticipation of Sonic Mania coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on August 15th, Sonic’s publicist at Sega, Edith Yang, recently showed off the game while agreeing to be peppered with stupid questions about how what’s old and new in Sonic’s latest Sunday jog.
Arms Review
Nintendo is usually good about bringing its biggest franchises to every game system they make. But while you may have thought it was more a matter of when than if they’d make a new Punch-Out!! for the Switch, well, we’ve got good news and some bad news. The bad news is that it might not happen because the good news is they’ve kind of done with Arms (Switch), a cartoony, three-dimensional fighting game that’s decidedly Punch-Out!!-esque.
Fast RMX Review
One of the more disappointing games of 2015 was FAST Racing Neo, a futuristic racing game that had great potential, but squandered it by not including some important options. But while the sequel Fast RMX (Switch) doesn’t add all of the options it needs, it’s still a noticeable improvement over its predecessor.
When Nintendo first unveiled The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild (Switch, WiiU), many people looked at the game’s wide open world and wondered if it was going to be a Zelda version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is with this in mind that I — as someone who’s more a fan of the latter than the former — present this assessment of the game.
