Given the popularity of the Monster Hunter games, especially in Japan, it’s hardly surprising that other game developers would make similar hunting action games. But Toukiden: The Age Of Demons — which Tecmo Koei America have released for the PlayStation Vita — manages to differentiate itself by not having you hunt monsters. Well, not the same monsters as in those other games. We’ll let Kenichi Ogasawara, Toukiden’s Producer, explain what that means.
“UFO Dad” Review
The last thing anyone needs is another Candy Crush Saga-style connect-3 game. But while UFO Dad thankfully distinguishes itself by adding new gameplay elements — and by not having you connect three of the same gems or food items, again — its uniqueness isn’t enough to make this as addicting as, well, other Candy Crush Saga-style connect-3 games.
Since launching on PCs in 2011, Terraria has since been released on systems both big (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and small (iOS, Android). With it now coming to the PlayStation Vita, 505 Games’ David Welch, the Creative Manager for the console and mobile versions, talks about how this new edition is similar, and different, from the others.
Tearaway Review
As the latest game from LittleBigPlanet creators Media Molecule, you’d expect Tearaway — a puzzling platformer for the PlayStation Vita — to be as adorable as it is inventive.
Happily, Tearaway doesn’t disappoint in this regard. Or any other for that matter.
Like their previous pinball tables, Star Wars or otherwise, the ones included in Zen Studio’s new Star Wars Pinball: Balance Of The Force collection strike a great balance between realism and unrealistic expectations. Which is why, like their previous pinball tables, the ones included in Star Wars Pinball: Balance Of The Force are as addictive and fun, well, Zen’s other pinball tables, Star Wars or otherwise.
Zen Studios and LucasArts have announced that Star Wars Pinball: Balance Of The Force — the second collection of Star Wars pinball tables — will be available this fall.
The collection will consist of three tables, all of which are based on the original trilogy.
This morning in Japan, Sony held a press conference to announce (among other things) a new version of the PlayStation Vita.
The new version will be 20% thinner and 15% lighter, and will also have a slightly improved battery that lasts an hour longer than the original model.
It will also swap its OLED screen for an LCD, and will have a 1GB internal hard drive, though Sony also announced a new 64GB memory card for the Vita.
The new Vita will also be available in white, pink, light blue, and grey, as well as the original black.
It will be relased on October 10 in Japan, where stores are already accepting pre-orders, and while there was no word as to when or if this version would be released in the U.S. or anywhere else, it’s a good bet that it will at some point.
Whether we’ll get the white, gray, pink, or blue models as well as the black one, however, is a different story.
Sony have announced that they are dropping the price of the PlayStation Vita — both the Wi-Fi-only and 4G models — to $199.99, as well as the prices for the Vita memory cards. The price drop is effective immediately, though apparently someone didn’t tell Amazon just yet.
