Vintage Interview: Beavis & Butt-Head’s Mike Judge From 1996

Long before he made Silicon Valley for HBO, long before he made the classic movie Office Space or the iconic cartoon King Of The Hill, Mike Judge was the mastermind behind Beavis & Butt-Head, the cutting edge ’toon that paved the way for Family Guy, Superjail!, and Metalocalypse.

In 1996, while he was working on the movie Beavis & Butt-Head Do America, I interviewed Judge for Bikini magazine about the movie, the show that inspired it, and what Mssrs. Beavis and Butt-Head will be like when they grow up.

What follows is a slightly edited version of that interview, most of which has never been published before.

With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 coming to theaters on May 2nd, it was inevitable that there’d be a video game adaptation as well. But along with the one Beenox are making for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, the WiiU, and the 3DS, there’s a unique one coming to iOS, Android, and, later on, Windows devices, too. I spoke to Gameloft’s Tatiana Nahai about what it took to bring Spidey and his super friends to smaller screens.

Transcendence Movie Review

The techno-cyber-thriller Transcendence is just the latest in a long line of movies in which some new technology is taken to its most evil conclusions, and thus shown how, in the wrong hands, it will kill one, some, or all of us. It’s The Lawnmower Man (virtual reality goes nuts), it’s Gattaca (genetic research goes nuts), and it’s Videodrome (TV goes nuts). Heck, there’s probably a movie from the ’50s in which a waffle iron goes nuts and kills people. And therein lies the problem with Transcendence: It’s nothing we haven’t seen before.

“The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug” DVD/Blu-ray Review

With great picture and sound, as well as some good extras, the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, and limited edition 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug are all a good way to watch this fantasy film in the comfort of your own home. But if you want a more complete version of the movie, or the trilogy of which is part two, you might want to wait.
