In the following email interview about her speculative fiction novel End Of The World House (hardcover, Kindle, audiobook), writer Adrienne Celt discusses what inspired and influenced this story of a time loop and a slow apocalypse, as well as why she set part of it in the Louvre instead of your local art museum.

Exclusive Interview: “Stringers” Author Chris Panatier

Anti-intellectualism has always annoyed me, and the recent and unapologetic increase in it has made the last few years even more irritating than they already were.

So it’s exciting that the hero — yeah, hero — of Chris Panatier’s humorous new sci-fi novel Stringers (paperback, Kindle, audiobook) is someone who knows it all. Literally.

In the following email interview, Panatier explains where he got the idea for this science fiction story, as well as what influenced it.

Exclusive Interview: “Braking Day” Author Adam Oyebanji

In many novels about generational space ships, the problems that arise are with the crew. But in his new science fiction novel Braking Day (hardcover, Kindle, audiobook), writer Adam Oyebanji presents a generational ship whose crew are not the problem. In the following email interview, Oyebanji discusses what inspired and influenced this story, which he says isn’t just a sci-fi one.

Exclusive Interview: “The Blood Trials” Author N.E. Davenport

Like some of the best sci-fi and fantasy writing, N.E. Davenport’s science fantasy novel The Blood Trials (hardcover, Kindle, audiobook) is as much about our world as it about the Republic in which it’s set.

In the following email interview about it, Davenport discusses both the sad realities and the magical fantasies that inspired and influenced this story.

Exclusive Interview: “A Single Light” Author Tosca Lee

Don’t you just hate it when you get tossed out of your doomsday cult only to have doomsday happen a few days later? We’ve all been there. And by “we,” I mean Wynter Roth, the main character of writer Tosca Lee’s medical thriller The Line Between. Sadly, Wynter’s life isn’t getting any better in the sequel, the dystopian, post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel A Single Light (paperback, Kindle, audiobook) that’s also the final book of this duology. In the following email interview, Lee discusses what inspired and influenced this second (not entirely implausible) installment.

Exclusive Interview: “Into The Real” Co-Authors John Ringo & Lydia Sherrer

Often when we hear about two people writing a novel together, it’s because they were friends first, or fans of each other’s work. But in the following email interview with co-writers John Ringo and Lydia Sherrer about their military sci-fi gamelit novel Into The Real (hardcover, Kindle), one of them mentions being a big fan of the other, while the other, well, we’ll let him explain the situation.

Exclusive Interview: “Time Troopers” Co-Editor Christopher Ruocchio

While part of me wishes time travel was physically possible — if only so I could see Led Zeppelin at The Whiskey in January of 1969 — it’s probably best that it isn’t because you know not everyone would use it to see rock concerts they were too young to go to at the time. Some would weaponize it.

But while doing this may not be possible (thank god), it is still fun to read about. Say, in an anthology of time travel stories.

In the following email interview, writer and editor Christopher Ruocchio discusses Time Troopers (paperback, Kindle), a new collection of time travel-centric military sci-fi short stories he co-edited with frequent collaborator Hank Davis.

Exclusive Interview: “Until The Last Of Me” Author Sylvain Neuvel

In the movie Hidden Figures, and the book by Margot Lee Shetterly that inspired it, we see how women at NASA were instrumental during the ’60s space race. Which is kind of what Sylvain Neuvel’s sci-fi trilogy Take Them To The Stars is about…if you swapped human women for alien ones. In the following email interview, Neuvel discusses this series’ second installment, Until The Last Of Me (hardcover, Kindle, audiobook).

Exclusive Interview: “Kingdoms Of Death” Author Christopher Ruocchio

With Kingdoms Of Death (hardcover, Kindle, audiobook), writer Christopher Ruocchio is presenting the fourth novel in his space fantasy series, The Sun Eater saga.

But as he explains in the following email interview, this series just got longer, sort of, and is all the better for it.
