NECA and Blizzard have announced that the former will release an action figure and a replica sword based on the latter’s game Diablo III this March.
For people who have a desk or bookcase to decorate there’s the Diablo III Deluxe Action Figure: Diablo, Lord Of Terror. Designed by Brian Fay, a senior sculptor at Blizzard, and NECA’s Alex Heinke, the hand-painted, 9-inch tall figure has over twenty-five points of articulation and a foot-long tail. It’s also, according to NECA, “honors the 2014 ‘Reaper Of Souls’ expansion to Diablo III,” though whether that means that “Reaper” will be out in March is anyone’s guess.
As for those who’d like to defend their desks or bookcases from such evil, the Diablo III Prop Replica: El’Druin, The Sword Of Justice is a three-and-a-half-foot long replica that’s made of ABS, PVC, and plastic, and was designed using the game’s digital files. They even, when painting this replica of Archangel Tyrael’s weapon, used a mix of, “washes and dry brushing to enhance the detail and the metallic feel.” Best of all: “Batteries included.”
No pricing was announced, though you can get more information about these and other action figures and replicas at NECA’s website.
