Game Of Thrones The Complete Fourth Season Blu-ray & DVD Review

When it airs on TV — sorry, HBO — Game Of Thrones is not only one of the best written, acted, and directed dramas, it’s also one of the smartest and most intricate fantasy stories in any medium. But even if you’ve already watched it on television or some other device, you’ll still want to pick up the Game Of Thrones The Complete Fourth Season on Blu-ray or DVD, which not only presents this show how it was meant to be seen, but with a number of cool extras as well.

Exclusive Interview: The Glittering World Author Robert Levy

It’s been said so often that it’s become cliché, and yet it still rings true: “Write what you know.” But while you might think this bit of advice was ignored by Robert Levy when he wrote the supernatural thriller The Glittering World (hardcover, digital), he admits that it’s actually what he did…mostly.

The Hobbit The Battle Of The Five Armies Movie Review

With The Hobbit The Battle Of The Five Armies, Peter Jackson and friends bring to a close the epic saga of J.R.R. Tolkien’s book, as well as our movie time in Middle-earth (probably). Continuing a tradition he began with 2002’s The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring, director Peter Jackson has now released a longer version of his latest Tolkien adaptation. But The Hobbit The Desolation Of Smaug Extended Edition Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray doesn’t just have the definitive version of the movie, they also have some great extras you can’t get anywhere else (well, not at the moment).

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Hawk Author Steven Brust

With the release of Hawk (Tor: hardcover, digital), fantasy writer Steven Brust has completed the fourteenth novel in his proposed nineteen book “Vlad Taltos” cycle. But in talking to him about it, it seems no one’s more excited to see what happens in it than Brust himself (and not, I’m happy to say, in a self-centered kind of way, either).

Exclusive Interview: We Are Not Good People Author Jeff Somers

By calling his new book We Are Not Good People, you might think writer Jeff Somers has penned a confessional tome by a politician, professional athlete, or a guy in Coldplay. But in talking to Somers about this fantasy novel (Gallery Books: paperbackdigital), it’s clear that there’s something more magical at work than just some guy admitting his sins.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Soul Shift Author Candace Beck Moesta

As a journalist (and I use that term loosely), I always use my skeptical eye when reading a press release that declares a book is one thing or the other. But in talking to Candace Beck Moesta about her debut fantasy novel Soul Shift, it seems the press release was spot on when it say the book is “Fantasy fiction for the anime enthusiast.”
