Blade Runner 2049 Blu-ray, 4K, DVD Review

Since its release in 1982, fans of the iconic and influential cyberpunk movie Blade Runner have been wondering what happened after Deckard drove off with Rachael. Now some of those questions have been answered, and in grand style, in one of 2017’s smartest and best movies, Blade Runner 2049, which is now available in a Blu-ray, DVD, digital combo pack, a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack, and on DVD. It’s just too bad the home versions, especially the DVD, leave some important questions unanswered as well.

Exclusive Interview Null States Author Malka Older

Science fiction stories have a long history of injecting politics into their plots. The latest example of this is Malka Older’s new novel Null States (hardcover, digital), the second book in her Centenal Cycle after 2016’s Infomocracy (paperback, digital). Though in talking to her about both novels, it seems America’s most recent election, as well as other political events around the world, didn’t have as big an impact on her novels’ plots as you might imagine.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided System Rift Review

Though it’s only been out a month or so, the cyberpunk shooting adventure game Deus Ex Mankind Divided (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC) is already getting a story-driven expansion. But while Deus Ex Mankind Divided System Rift (also Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC) isn’t a radical departure from the main game, it is a short but challenging one-off mission that has all of the elements, and all of the engagement, of the main game.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Review

By mixing elements of role-playing games, first-person shooters, and stealth action games within the framework of a cyberpunk story, 2011’s Deus Ex Human Revolution was basically the Ghost In The Shell game that fans of that anime had been waiting for since the movie’s 1995 debut, myself included. And though we’re still waiting for the Ghost people to get it right, we can at least enjoy the next best thing with Deus Ex Mankind Divided (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC).
