Ralph Steadman Documentary For No Good Reason Blu-ray/DVD & Digital Announced

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced that For No Good Reason — a documentary about artist and frequent Hunter S. Thompson collaborator, Ralph Steadman (Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas) — will be released as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and digital download on September 2nd.

For No Good Reason presents the life story of Steadman, a British cartoonist, illustrator, and artist who is best known for the drawings he did for Hunter S. Thompson’s book Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail ’72, both of which were originally published as articles in Rolling Stone magazine.

Steadman also drew the poster for the 1987 movie Withnail And I, and has done special covers for the books Animal FarmFahrenheit 451Alice In Wonderland, and Treasure Island.

Directed by Charlie Paul, For No Good Reason is narrated by Johnny Depp, who also serves as tour guide for Steadman’s home, which is where much of the movie was shot. Along with Depp, the movie also features Terry Gilliam (Brazil), Richard E. Grant (Withnail And I), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), and Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner.

Along with the movie, the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of For No Good Reason also includes a Q&A with Steadman and Paul from the Toronto International Film Festival, a commentary by Paul and the movie’s producer Lucy Paul, an animated short, and deleted scenes.

The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of For No Good Reason is currently available for pre-ordering from Amazon for $29.78.
