UDON and Morpheus Publishing Limited have announced that they will publish manga versions of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice and Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables on August 27th. Both books will be available in softcover, hardcover, and digitally.
Originally published in 1813, Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice follows Elizabeth Bennet as she navigates British society at the turn of the 19th century.
The 366 page, black & white manga version will be adapted by Crystal Silvermoon, with an English script by Stacy King, while the artwork will be done by SunNeko Lee. It is currently available for pre-ordering from Amazon, with the softcover listed for $15.47 and the hardcover for $18.62. The digital edition will be available from Comixology.
As for Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, this 1862 novel has an ex-criminal named Jean Valjean trying to turn his life around while his past constantly comes back to haunt him. While the novel is considering one of the best of the 19th century, it best known to modern audiences as a musical and a recent movie based on that musical.
The manga version will be 376 black & white pages, and will be adapted by Stacy King, with art by Po Tse. It is also currently available for pre-ordering from Amazon, with the softcover also listed for $15.47 and the hardcover for $18.62. And, again, the digital edition will be available from Comixology.
