Universal Home Video have announced that Lucy — the action flick directed by Luc Besson (The Professional) that starred Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers) — will be released on Digital HD on January 20th, and then as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and on DVD on January 20th.
In the movie, Johansson accidentally ingests a drug that causes her to use more of her brain than most people, which basically turns her into a Jedi. But while she was great it in, the movie itself was just good, as you can see from the review I did when it came out.
Along with Johansson, the movie also stars Morgan Freeman (The Dark Knight Rises) and Choi Mink-Sik (Oldboy).
As for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and DVD editions, both will include “Cerebal Capacity: The True Science Of Lucy,” a featurette that goes into the fact behind the science fiction, while the Blu-ray will also include a second featurette titled “The Evolution Of Lucy” that goes into more about the character and how she was played by Johansson.
Lucy is currently available for pre-ordering from Amazon, with the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack listed for $22.99, while the DVD edition will be $17.99.
