Kotobukiya have announced that they’ll release statues of characters from Batman comics, The Defenders, the upcoming Black Panther movie, the Resident Evil video games, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi this summer.
First up, chronologically, is 12.5-inch tall, 1/6 scale ARTFX statue of Black Panther modelled after how he looks in the upcoming live action movie. Well, in a scene where he’s standing upon some Wakandan ruins, that is. It will retail for $139.99.
June also sees the release of a 7.5-inch tall, 1/10 scale ARTFX+ statue of Luke Cage modelled after how he looks on the Netflix series The Defenders. Available in June, the statue — which follows similar ones Kotobukiya have released for Luke’s coworkers Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist — has magnets in its feet, which will keep it stable on its base. It will be available for $74.99.
Then, in July, Kotobukiya will release 7-inch tall, 1/10th scale ARTFX+ statues of the Praetorian Guards from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Available in a two-pack, they also, like the Luke Cage one, include magnets in their feet for stability.
Even cooler, these statues come with multiple heads and weapons so you can make your favorite pair from the movie. The two-pack will retail for $139.99.
July will also see the release of a 1/7th scale Red Hood IKEMEN statue. A male version of Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo series, IKEMEN statues are designed to be a Japanese take on a Western character, in this case Jason Todd’s alter ego from the Batman comics. It will be available for $89.99.
Finally, Kotobukiya will also, this July, release an 11.5-inch tall, 1/6 scale ARTFX statue of Resident Evil 6 hero Chris Redfield. Designed to look like he did in the 2017 Japanese CGI movie Resident Evil: Vendetta, this statue will be available for $169.99.
