Paramount Home Video have announced that — in anticipation of the sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, coming to theaters on December 20 — a two-disc special edition of Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy will be released on Blu-ray on December 3.
Along with both the original and an extended, unrated version of the movie — which is four minutes longer than the theatrical cut — Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy: The “Rich Mahogany” Edition will also include a commentary with stars Will Ferell, Andy Richter, Paul Rudd, Kyle Glass, Lou Rawls, David Koechner, and director Adam McKay; an introduction by Ferrell and Aaron Zimmer, who is the assistant to the movie’s producer, Shauna Robertson; nearly an hour of deleted and extended scenes; bloopers; Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie; a music video for “Afternoon Delight” as well as a making-of featurette on the video; footage of Ron Burgundy auditioning for a job with ESPN Sports Center; PSAs; an awards speech; “Happy Birthday AMC Loews”; the original trailers; footage of the table read; the televised making-of featureettes “Reel Comedy: Anchorman” and “Cinemax: The Making Of Ron Burgundy”; “Raw Footage: Good Takes”; interviews with Rebecca Romijn, Jim Caviezel, and Burt Reynolds; rehearsal footage; playback video; and a fake commercial.
Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy: The “Rich Mahogany” Edition is currently available for preorder from Amazon for $16.42.
