Funko have announced that they will release a series of POP! vinyl figures based on Magic The Gathering characters on May 27th.
Included in the series are Jace Beleren (#01)…
…Garruk Wildspeaker (#02)…
…Ajani Goldmane (#03)…
…Nissa Revabe (#04)…
…Liliana Vess (#05)…
…and Chandra Nalaar (#06).
As with all of Funko’s POP! figures, the Magic The Gathering ones will stand around 3.75-inches tall, and will retail for around $11.99 each.
These are not the only Magic The Gathering figures Funko are making. A series of more realistic action figures — also of Jace, Garruk, Ajani, Nissa, Liliana, and Chandra — are scheduled for September. All of them are currently available for pre-ordering and will retail for $19.99 each.
In the announcement, Elaine Chase, the Brand Director for Magic The Gathering at Wizards Of The Coast said, “We are excited to bring the world’s best strategy game to life with these figures. Funko has been a great partner, and we’re looking forward to giving players yet another way to enjoy Magic The Gathering.”
It was a sentiment echoed by Funko CEO Brian Mariotti, who said, “We are deeply honored and very excited that Wizards Of The Coast chose Funko as a partner to develop truly cool collectibles for Magic The Gathering. I know the fans of Magic have been waiting nearly 20 years to get their hands on some fantastic Action Figures and stylized Vinyl figures. I promise that we won’t disappoint them!”
