Fox Home Video have announced that they will release both How I Met Your Mother: The Whole Story on DVD and How I Met Your Mother: Season Nine on DVD on September 23rd.
How I Met Your Mother: The Whole Story presents all nine seasons of the sitcom, and all of their respective extras, as well as a new disc of special features that includes a live table read of the series finale, the show’s 2013 Comic-Con panel, the scripted introduction from that Comic-Con panel, a retrospective documentary called “All Out Of Spoilers,” a featurette on the casting of the titular mother called “Meeting The Mother,” a self-explanatory featurette called “How We Filmed The Kids: A Look At How The Mosby Kid Sequence For The Finale Was Shot Back In 2006,” and a featurette titled “Pineapple Scene” that solves the mystery of the pineapple.
As for How I Met Your Mother: Season Nine, it will include an alternate ending to the series finale, a behind-the-scenes look at that final episode called “How It Ends,” a gag reel, footage of Cristin Milioti’s audition, a featurette called a featurette looking at the 360 degree guest star sequence from the episode “Gary Blauman” called “Where Are They Now,” and audio commentaries on the episodes “The Locket,” “Hw Your Mother Met Me,” and “The Rehearsal Dinner.”
Both DVDs are now available for pre-ordering from Amazon, with How I Met Your Mother: The Whole Story listed for $161.98 and How I Met Your Mother: Season Nine for $35.98.
