Gentle Giant have announced that they will release a statue of Zeb, one of the characters from the upcoming cartoon Star Wars Rebels, in the Spring of 2015.
In the announcement it says that, “Zeb Orrelios is a Lasat rebel that finds himself thrown in with the eccentric pair of Ezra, a Force-sensitive con artist, and Chopper, an astromech droid that’s been rebuilt one too many times. Together, they travel the galaxy in the starship Ghost, fighting the Empire at every turn.”
Zeb’s look on Star Wars Rebels is reportedly based on a design Ralph McQuarrie originally did for Chewbacca. He will be voiced on the show by Steve Blum (Spike from Cowboy BeBop), who will be joined on the show by Jason Isaacs (who was Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies) and Freddie Prinze, Jr. (the Scooby-Doo movies),
Star Wars Rebels is set to launch this fall on Disney XD, and is being done by many of the same people who did the Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon.
As with all of their statues, the Zeb one will be made of high-quality, hand-painted polystone, and will be a numbered limited edition that comes with a matching certificate of authenticity.
At the moment, finished versions of the statue aren’t available, but Gentle Giant did send along the following concept drawing, and have said it would be 1/8th scale.
The statue is listed for $129.00, and Gentle Giant will be taking pre-orders for the statue until July 15th here.
