Warner Home Video have announced that they will release The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug — the second of the three Hobbit movies — on DVD, in a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, in a 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack, and in a limited edition 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack on April 8th.
Along with the movie, all four editions will include the on-set featurettes Peter Jackson Invites You To The Set: In The Company Of “The Hobbit” and Peter Jackson Invites You To The Set: All In A Day’s Work, production videos, a featurette on the real-world locations called New Zealand: Home Of Middle-earth, Part 2, the music video for Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire,” and the digital copy of the movie.
In addition, the 3D editions will, naturally, have the 3D version of the film as well as the 2D one, while the Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack — of which only 25,000 will be available in the U.S. — comes with a pair of Gates Of Erebor replica bookends from The Noble Collection.
Amazon current has the DVD edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug listed for $28.98, the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack for $22.99, the 3D DVD/Blu-ray combo pack for $27.99, and the Limited Collector’s Edition DVD/Blu-ray combo pack for $79.99.
