Exclusive Interview: Bladestorm Nightmare Producer Akihiro Suzuki

When Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War came out in 2007, it gave players a chance to lead groups of swordmen, spearmen, and archers in battles set during the titular European conflict. But when Bladestorm Nightmare comes out March 17th on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One, it will not only include the original game, but a entire second one in which those swordmen, spearmen, and archers will battle cylopses, dragons, and other mythical creatures. Bladestorm Nightmare producer Akihiro Suzuki explains how that happened and how it changes (or doesn’t change, as the case may be) how you’ll play this game.

Exclusive Interview: Toukiden Kiwami Producer Takashi Morinaka

In the action game Toukiden: The Age Of Demons, Vita owners got to track and kill fantastic creatures. Now a new version of that game, Toukiden Kiwami, is slated to bring the game’s beast stalking action to the PlayStation 4 and Vita on March 31st. But in talking to Toukiden Kiwami Producer Takashi Morinaka, it’s clear that this edition is both new and improved…and that you shouldn’t mention that other monster hunting game when you talk to him.

Thoughts On The Halo 5 Guardians Multiplayer Beta

Starting December 29th, fans of the Halo games — well, the ones who bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection — will get a chance to check out the upcoming Halo 5 Guardians (Xbox One) during a multiplayer beta that’s slated to last through January 18th. But this past weekend, they allowed members of the media, myself included, a chance to play the game early during a pre-beta stress test of the servers. And while it only featured one mode (“Team Slayer”), and two maps (“Truth,” a remake of the small, arena-like “Midship” from Halo 2; and a new one called “Empire” that’s a large factory with vertical possibilities), this was more than enough to see that Halo 5 Guardians will be different from previous Halo games in some fundamental ways.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Hand Of Fate Creative Director Morgan Jaffit

It’s not uncommon for the mechanics of a card or board game to make their way into a video game intact. But not many of those video games are as action-focused as Hand Of Fate, which Defiant Development are making for PCs, PlayStation 4, and, as they recently announced, Xbox One. But in talking to the game’s creative director, Morgan Jaffit, it seems there’s more to this game than what they’ve laid out on the table.

E3 Hands-On Preview: Alien: Isolation

At a recent event in Los Angeles, Sega gave game journalists (myself included) a chance to play through a decent chunk of Alien: Isolation, the upcoming, first-person, stealth-action, survival horror game that’s set up as a sequel to the classic 1979 sci-fi film, and will be released on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PCs on October 7th. But while my time with the game wasn’t exhaustive, it’s still clear to me that this game has the potential to be as scary and engrossing as the movie that inspired it.

Sonic Lost World Preview

With a little more than a month before it comes to the WiiU and 3DS, Sega held a media tour for Sonic Lost World where they showed off some new aspects of this upcoming game.

But while the developers are obviously striving to appeal to longtime fans of this series, they’re also adding new ways for this speed freak to satisfying his ring addiction.
