BLU-RAY NEWS: Doctor Who: The Complete Series 1-7 Announced

BBC Home Video have announced that they’ll release Doctor Who: The Complete Series 1-7 Limited Edition Blu-ray Gift Set, a boxed set of every Doctor Who episode since the show relaunched in 2005, on November 5.

The 29-disc boxed set marks the first time that the first four seasons — i.e., the one with Christopher Eccleston playing the good Doctor, and the first three of David Tennant’s tenure — will be available on Blu-ray.

Also included, of course, is a collection of the special done with Tennant, as well as the three seasons with Matt Smith in the title role.

In addition, the Gift Set will also include all of the extras included on previous editions of these seasons, as well as ton of new ones that include a wealth of extras, including a universal remote disguised as a sonic screwdriver, an exclusive Doctor Who comic book, 3 exclusive art cards, and a bonus Blu-ray with three TV specials: “The Doctor Who Ultimate Lists Of Lists,” which has BBC America’s pop culture guru Asha Leo and Doctor Who recurring star John Barrowman counting down such lists as “Top Five Guest Stars,” “Top Five Companions,” and “Top Five Scariest Moments”; “Doctor Who At The Proms 2010,” in which Arthur Darvill and Doctor Who star Karen Gillen host an evening of music performed by The London Philharmonic; and “Doctor Who: The Best Of The Christmas Specials,” a special from 2011 about the annual Doctor Who holiday shows.

The Doctor Who: The Complete Series 1-7 Limited Edition Blu-ray Gift Set will retail for $349.98.
