Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced that Insidious: Chapter 2 will be released on DVD and in a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack on December 24.
Written by Leigh Whannel (Saw, Saw III), and directed by James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring), Insidious: Chapter 2 “…follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world. They must rely on familiar allies to exile the demons that follow them and unearth the secret before the evil continues its deadly rampage.”
Along with the movie, both editions will include the making-of featurette “Peripheral Vision: Behind The Scenes,” a second featurette called “Ghostly Transformation” on how the actors were made to look like ghosts, and a digital copy of the film.
In addition, the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack will also include “Haunted Hospital: On Location,” in which the cast and crew talk about the supposedly haunted location where they shot the movie; “Leigh Whannel’s Insidious Journal,” which provides the writer’s perspective on the making of the movie; “Work In Progress: On Set Q&A,” which has interviews with Whannel, Wan, producer Jason Blum, and the films’ stars Barbara Hershey and Patrick Wilson; and the webisodes “Insidious: Spectral Sightings.”
Insidious: Chapter 2 is currently available for pre-ordering from Amazon, with the DVD listed as $27.89 while the DVD/Blu-ray combo pack is $36.89.
